Simplyfollow this step-by-step procedure and, before long, you will be enjoying yourfirst glorious experience in your Sundance Series Spa. For best results,read each step in its entirety before proceeding with that step. Although the spa shell has been polished atthe factory, you may want to treat it with a specially formulated spa cleanerand wax available from your dealer prior to filling the first time. After the initial start-up sequence ends, the actual water temperature isdisplayed. Note: it is common for the heater to turn on afterthe spa is first filled because tap water is often very cold. To adjust, gently press each jet nozzle tothe side to initiate a rotating massage, or center the nozzlefor a non-rotating jet stream.

Adjust flow volume by turningouter jet ring clockwise to increase flow or counterclockwiseto decrease flow. The Accu-Pressure jet is non-adjustable. To adjust each jetsflow stream angle, simply push the nozzle to the left or right.

Note: Always keep at least 6 adjustable jetsopen at all times on each jet system. Each controlintroduces air into the water lines that supply specific jetgroups. Simply rotate any air control knob clockwise to open,Page To minimize heat loss, all air controls shouldbe closed when the spa is not in use.

Refer to stereo operation instructions suppliedwith stereo for additional information. The circulation pump draws water through the short side of the doubleendedfilter cartridge and effectively removes small debris in your spa. Note: the hour circulation pump system also supplies heated water tothe spa when the heater turns on. This features cannot be altered or disabled. Refer to sections In these modes, the water temperature is regulated by theset temperature, hour circulation pump, and heater which turns on asneeded.

After the programmed set temperature is reached, the heater turnsoff and the circulation pump continues to operate hours to filter andclean your spa. In these modes, the water temperature is regulated by theset temperature, hour circulation pump, and heater only while a programmedfilter cycle is running unless in summer logic; see section Note: these modes consume far less energy than standardmodes F0-F3 outlined above.

ThePage Note: start time is approximateand may vary slightly from day to day. Your authorized Sundance dealer can supply you with all theinformation, supplies, and accessory products you will need to accomplishthis. Small debris is filtered by the circulationpump drawing water through the short end of the filter cartridge.

Both halves work together to providesunsurpassed water quality by trapping suspended particles on their outersurface. Palermo and Bahia models include filters on their footwell suctioncovers that prevent debris from entering pump 2, when operating. These filters must remain in place to protect their pump 2 plumbing network. They should be cleaned every 2 months, or when weak pump2 performance is observed. To ensure optimum performance, clean and reuse the filter cartridge once amonth.

Rinse debris from filter pleats using a garden hoseand high-pressure nozzle. Start at the top andwork downward to the face. Repeat process untilall filter pleats are clean. DTrappedAirBubblesEFilterNutSubmerge filter in spa and tilt each endupward to remove trapped air bubbles frominside each filter cavity. Install filter, then tighten filter nut so it just touchesfilter face.

Turn power to hot tub back on. Periodically, the cartridge will need a more thorough cleaning to removeimbedded oils and minerals. For this, we suggest cleaning as illustrated above Step C , followed by soaking the filter overnight in a plastic container filledwith a solution of water and a specially formulated filter cleanser availablefrom your Sundance dealer.

The average life expectancy of the filter cartridgeis approximately two years with proper care and water quality maintenance. Replacement cartridges may be purchased from your Sundance dealer.

The frequencydepends on a number of variables including the amount of use, attentionpaid to water quality maintenance, etc. Do not turn the power backon until your spa has been refilled. To drain your spa, perform the following steps Turn off power to hot tub at breaker.

Unscrew drain valve cap to exposethe underlying male garden hose fitting. Attach hoseto fitting and route opposite end away from hot tub. Pull outward on garden hose at drain connection approx. Waterdrains at approximately 3 gallons per minute. Close drain valve by pushing inward on garden hose at drain connectionuntil you feel it bottom out, then remove garden hose, install gray draincap, and refill spa.

If you are not certain as to the suitability of a particular cleanser,consult your authorized Sundance dealer. Regardless of the cleanser used,use extreme care to assure that no soap residue is left on the surface. Thiscould cause severe sudsing when the spa is refilled. To maintain water resistance and luster, apply aquality vinyl conditioner once a month.

Always remove the pillows whenadding chemical shock treatment to the spa water. The pillows can bereturned to the spa when the sanitizer reading drops below 5 ppm. Your spa pillows utilize a lip mounted design that can be damagedwhen improperly removed!

Damage caused by improper removalis not covered under the manufacturer warranty! Press inward on logowith thumbs to curl toppillow lip inward so youcan grab it with fingertips. Flex pillow lip inward” from acrylic untilyou see it releasefrom top half ofmounting bracket. Reposition hands atsides of pillow.

Flexsides inward ” torelease sides andbottom from mountingbracket. Never machine wash your pillowsor attempt to clean them with a non-approved vinyl cleaning agent! Simply align pillow s over mounting bracket,then gently flex pillow lip inward over mounting bracket lip to hold pillow in place. To prolong the life of the cover, handle it with care and cleanit regularly using mild soap and water. Periodic treatments with a specialconditioner developed for Sundance spa covers will help protect againstdeterioration caused by UV rays from the sun.

Never allow anyone to standor sit on the cover, and avoid dragging it across rough surfaces. In most of these cases debris is present in the jet bearings andmust be cleared to achieve proper operation.

Note: This procedure is considerednormal maintenance for this type of jet. Remove jet internalfrom hot tub wall fittingby placing your handaround the outer jetadjustment ring androtating it counterclockwise fig. Rotate jetadjustment ring until itstops at position A. It may seem like yourfig.

Fill a clean bucket with tap water and immerse jet internal. Thismotion allows slow moving water to wash back through the jet bearingand dislodge any debris that might be lodged in the bearing. Clean eachjet internal for approximately 1 to 2 minutes twice a year, or when aparticular jets rotation appears sluggish, jerky, or obstructed. Reinstall jet internal by inserting it in any jet opening of the same jet type.

If jet rotation appearssluggish or obstructed at this time, repeat steps until condition clears. If condition persists, contact dealer for technical support. To clean, simply wipe cabinet with a clean towel and mild soap solution.

During periods of severe freezing temperatures,you should check periodically to be certain that the electrical supply to thespa has not been interrupted. If you do not intend to use your spa, or if there is a prolonged power outageduring periods of severe freezing temperatures, it is important that allwater be removed from the spa and equipment to protect against damagefrom freezing.

For expert winterization of your spa, contact yourauthorized Sundance dealer. In emergency situations, damage can beminimized by taking the following steps Follow the directions on page for draining the spa. As the water level drops below the seats, use whatever meansnecessary to get the water out of the recessed seating areas and intothe footwell.

This situation will block water flow preventing thespa from operating properly and possibly damaging the equipment. We recommendyou consult your dealer for guidance before attempting to re-startyour spa under these conditions.

It is afairly simple task, but it requires regular attention because the water chemistryinvolved is a balance of several factors. There is no simple formula, andthere is no avoiding it. A careless attitude in regard to water maintenance willresult in poor and potentially unhealthful conditions for soaking and evendamage to your spa.

For specific guidance on maintaining water quality, consultyour authorized Sundance dealer who can recommend appropriate chemicalproducts for sanitizing and maintaining your spa. The midpoint of 7 is said to be neutral, above which is alkalineand below which is acidic. Problemsbecome proportionately severe the further outside of this range the watergets. A low pH will be corrosive to metals in the spa equipment.

A high pHwill cause minerals to deposit on the interior surface scaling. In addition, thePage That is why almost all spa water testkits contain a measure for pH as well as sanitizer. Some are necessary to compensate for out-of-balance water, some aid incosmetic water treatment and others simply alter the feel or smell of thewater.

Your authorized Sundance dealer can advise you on the use of theseadditives. Thischemical can have an extremely corrosive effect on certain materialsin the spa. Damage caused by use of this chemical, or improperuse of any chemicals, is not covered under the spa’s warranty.

You will also probablybe able to go longer between complete spa drainings. The UV or CDozone unit operates in conjunction with the circulation pump. This setting is not user-programmable. This condition is more likely in excessively hotweather.

Water is too hot. Overheat protection. Heater is deactivated. Spa water temperatureis above acceptable limits. Neverleave spa uncovered when children are present! If condition persists,contact your authorized Sundance dealer. Refer to sections The high-limit temperature sensor is not functioning. Your authorized dealer must repair this. The temperaturesensor is not functioning. The mainpump 1 may also deactivate. To Correct Condition Check for proper water level.

See section Hold your garden hose over the filter wallfitting with grate using a rag as a seal around hose end,then ask a helper to turn on water for 30 seconds, then turnoff.

Reinstall filter cartridge and check spa. If problem persists, contact your authorized dealer. No corrective action is required. Note: duringcold periods, you may consider increasing the number of filtration cycles. No action is required. Main pump will operate to circulate warmwater through the plumbing until the spa is out of danger. A problem has been detected which could causedamage to the spa or its components.

Contact your authorizeddealer. If you are still not satisfied it isworking properly, please follow the appropriate troubleshooting instructions. Note: If any of the supply cords to the accessories are damaged, they mustbe replaced by authorized service personnel. Pump, Light Check the following Is there power to the spa?

Is the household circuit breaker tripped? Call your authorized dealer. If no water movement is detected, make sure power is going to the spaand check the water level. If it does not solve the problem, contact yourauthorized Sundance dealer. The main pump operates but no water flows to jets. Pump may not beproperly primed. This can happen after the spa is drained and refilled. Press the JETS 1 button several times, never leaving the motor on formore than 5 to 10 seconds at a time.

Refer to section 8. Press the JETS 1 button to make certain the pump 1 is on. Check for dirty filter. Clean, if necessary. Make sure jets are all the way open. Check thermostat setting. Keep the spa cover in place while heating. Should checking the above steps fail to correct the problem, please call yourdealer so that they may arrange service.
